A 'Dam Problem'. The Gov + Oroville
Mandatory evacuation order in Northern California was lifted on Tuesday after being placed on Sunday due to Oroville Dam, the tallest dam in the world, succumbing to water damage caused by erosion.
According to California Department of Water Resources, there is a threat of major rain for this seasonal prediction so government officials, engineers and crew are working over time to secure the dam long term. The order effected nearly 200,000 people who have been instructed to stay on their guard if they decide to return.
FEMA has announced relief for Butte, Sutter, and Yuba counties. Crews dumped sizable boulders into the damaged sections of the dam in hopes of plugging up the super-hole and preventing further spillage.
ABC Tweets video about a boy who is forced to become a "dam" refugee. Can I say that? Its a dam shame. #THSKNY
